Kingdom Thinking
by Jason A. Aguilar
When a plane makes its final
approach to land at 175 miles per hour, the wheels don’t turn. It is
not until the wheels make contact with the runway that they will
spin at the same speed as the plane. Many citizens of the Kingdom
judge their lives like these wheels. They feel they are stagnant,
forgotten, and not turning and moving at the same speed as the
Kingdom. But these citizens must not judge their lives by the
inoperative function of the wheels. They must judge their lives by
the speed of the plane because at some point, that plane will hit
the runway. When it does, those wheels will spin at the same speed.
The Church is about to hit the runway. We are making our final
approach and when the plane is in the distance the wheels don’t
spin. As we come close to hitting the runway, the enemy is going to
send an updraft of resistance. There are spiritual agencies
organized against us to make sure there is no Kingdom contact.
However, when the plane hits the runway, the wheels in our heads are
going to start moving and thinking at the speed of the Kingdom.
“But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book
until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and
knowledge will increase.” Daniel 12:4 (New Living Translation)
The world today is accelerating at high speeds on various levels.
Everything is getting faster and better. Technology knowledge is
multiplying every 18 months and people can travel to anywhere in the
world within 24 hours. The internet is bringing massive changes in
the way capital flows, translating into an economic boom of global
proportions. The vast majority of business to business transactions
are electronic, making procedures easier, faster, and less
expensive. Money is always in search of the place where it gets the
best return in the shortest amount of time. In his book, Business @
the Speed of Thought, Bill Gates wrote, "A person cannot develop a
successful strategy, undertake the right ventures, or effectively
understand what to do next without building on insights from the
facts and data." As Gates has built insights on the business systems
of this world, we must build spiritual insights from the kingdom
principles found in God’s Word. The internet should teach us how we
should function in God’s kingdom. It functions through the
circulation of knowledge in cyberspace. Kingdom knowledge circulates
through the Spirit. It is our connectedness to the leading of the
Spirit that kingdom workers and investors will accelerate the
establishment of the Kingdom of God on a global scope. How you
gather, manage, and use Kingdom knowledge will determine whether you
win or lose.
“And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done
wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser
than the children of light.” Luke 16:8 (King James Version)
Jesus told this parable of the unjust steward to illustrate that the
business world is wiser or “outthinks” the church world. The unjust
steward was commended, not for his disloyalty to his master, but for
his insight and understanding of the business system he was working.
He knew what the next step was. Furthermore, Jesus wasn’t saying the
business world is more intelligent. What about the 4.0 g.p.a.
student who gives his life to Jesus? Is he less intelligent after
the fact? Of course not. Jesus was saying that the children of this
world know how to use their system. Do we know ours? Most believers
really don’t have deep insight into the systems of the Kingdom. The
Word of God helps believers create value systems. When the value
systems in the life of a believer are not working correctly, he
needs the Word to help him correct those wrong mindsets. It is
dangerous to understand the moving of the Spirit without having an
understanding of value. There must be a balance between Word and
Spirit. That is why some people can believe God for spiritual things
but not for natural things. They have the faith to believe for the
raising of the dead but not for two million dollars to pay off a
church mortgage. A system of value is shut down and closed to
kingdom prosperity.
This is what the battle is all about. It’s all about revelation and
insight. It is about what one knows or could know if he continues to
develop a deep understanding of the principles of the kingdom. Money
doesn’t rule the world. Ideas rule the world. He that controls the
minds of individuals controls the world.
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which
believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is
the image of God, should shine unto them.” 2 Corinthians 4:4 (King
James Version)
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through
God to the pulling down of strong holds. Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of
God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (King James Version)
It is no wonder Paul warned the Church that the battles are won by
changing our mindsets. The spiritual agencies of this world war
against your mind by trying to elevate its ideas higher than the
knowledge of God. These agencies know if a believer spends time
continually thinking and gets past the visualizing of material
things, because that’s where most people start, God will give him
ideas, concepts, and insights. These ideas, concepts, and insights
are promise seeds of a future. Everything we do in life must be
given thought and those thoughts make us productive.
Our ministry seemed unproductive, inoperative, and stagnant the
first two years in Long Island. I wanted to see immediate results.
But taking dominion through kingdom principles takes time and
requires discipline. We lose all our rights when we come under
Kingdom order. Its laws are governed in a spiritual environment;
therefore, most things do not transpire from heaven to earth
immediately. The Kingdom of God manifests itself on various levels.
As a rocket gains momentum, it takes time to gain momentum when
establishing a church. The greatest challenge is getting off the
ground. Our experience here in New York was as such. Once that plane
hit the runway for us, everything gained momentum from membership,
to finances, to cross-cultural outreach, to territory, to
properties, to staffing, to influence in the community, to
resources, to partners, and everything in-between. The Church is now
growing on various levels. Today, there are many areas of growth I
cannot see because the Kingdom has expanded beyond my own vision and
reach. And that’s when you know you are growing; when growth happens
beyond your limitations, abilities, and thinking.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that
we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
Ephesians 3:20 (King James Version)
God does it better than we can image. Kingdom thinking takes over
and we simply ride the momentum to where the Lord leads us. Our
leaders in New York have been trained and empowered to think of
innovative ways to take dominion over their communities. Our daily
ministry expands beyond the four walls of the Sunday service.
Although we have purchased a property in New York, with the help of
many kingdom investors, we have not limited the ministry or the
message to the church building. We continue to invest in other means
throughout Long Island to reach all people wherever they may be. A
giant map of Long Island sits in our church conference room with
words on it expressing our local church vision best, “Reaching all
of Long Island” with the Kingdom message. In the last few weeks, our
ministry has grown exponentially with a residual blessing attached.
We are fulfilling God’s first kingdom command to Adam - be fruitful,
multiply, and replenish. Adam was given the building blocks for
taking dominion - produce the idea, patent and replicate it on a
massive level, and then export it throughout the world. When we take
dominion using the system of God’s kingdom, the Church is
accelerated beyond the limitations of human reasoning. We now move
at the speed of God’s thoughts: solving problems of thinking on one
level with the solutions of thinking on a higher level.
